I met Joey on the internet when we were looking for a rescue.
Elsa is our Trainer's dog granddaughter.
Pet likes:
They love scent trailing and Elsa won a scent trailing competition that the trainer held in November 2008.
Pet dislikes:
joey does not like squirrels. everytime he goes outside he has to run to the back of the yard and bark at the telephone wires, even when there are no squirrels around.
Pet’s favorite spot:
They love to be on the couch.
Pet’s favorite toy:
They love their kongs and squeakers
Pet’s silliest habit:
Joey loves to roll around and makes a funny noise
Pet’s sweetest moments:
When they are both laying down next to each other sleeping
I crack up when my pet:
JOey loves to dunk his head in the pool. he wont go in but loves to dunk. he also loves to drag the wadding pool around filled with water.
Elsa trys to teach Joey how to play ball since he never learned. it is funny.
My pet is unique because:
Joey came from a rescue. The day that he was suppose to be put down, the German Sheperd rescue shelter came in and saved him.
Elsa is a very special girl. it was a long decision when we talked about getting a second dog. and before she was even born, we were thinking about getting another female, but at the time Joey was not ready. The day our trainer told us that Joey was ready for a friend Elsa was born.
Anna, you have two females? We have two females, one is 15, the other is 3.5. The reason we got the younger one as a puppy is because we assumed (incorrectly, I might add) that the oldest one had limited time left. She had already had a couple of strokes. Well, 3.5 years later she's still here and we've enjoyed having the daring duo. LOL We've just rescued Axel, an 11 month old GSD. It's been wonderful, but it has had its share of real challenges. He is in obedience right now, next week he graduates from his basic and then moves onto advanced. We are using a trainer who is the only female to have earned two Schuzhund championships from both Austria and Germany. She's a bit rough around the edges and her personality is much more conducive to dogs than people. I've had GSD's all my life and have trained, so I have to learn to use her methods now.. which is a bit difficult at times for me. LOL My husband's advice each week is "shut up and do it". LOL
I see some Schuzhund pics.. are you into that? There are going to be some interesting trials here in Phoenix in December. You really should think about coming to see them if you're into that sort of thing.
