Profile Information

Proud pet parent of:
Chloe (dachshund)
Pet likes:
She LOVES going for walks. All I have to do is just say the word and she goes nuts lol!!
Pet dislikes:
Chloe hates the vacum. She runs under the bed and hides everytime she sees it.
She doesn't like to get wet, but she does like to float around the pool on the raft...as long as she doesn't get splashed or fall in...
Pet’s favorite spot:
She loves laying in any sunny spot...but she also just loves to be in your lap!!
Pet’s favorite toy:
All her toys...she has trouble picking just one to play with at a time...
My pet is unique because:
Chloe is such a goof ball but also extremly sweet and loving...I swear sometimes I think she understands everything I say to her...the way she'll sit there and tilt her head from side to side when I'm talking...its so funny...she always makes me smile :) She's my best buddy and little shadow for sure LOL!!
In Loving Memory of our Zackery...we miss you buddy

“He taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart…to appreciate the simple things…and as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty."

“Loyalty. Courage. Devotion. Simplicity. Joy. And the things that did not matter too. A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes. Status symbols mean nothing to him. A waterlogged stick will do just fine. A dog judges others not by their color or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog doesn’t care if you are rich o poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his. It was really quite simple, and yet we humans, so much wiser and more sophisticated, have always had trouble figuring out what really counts and what does not.”
~John Grogan

This Old Dog
I'm getting on in years,
My coat is turning gray.
My eyes have lost their luster,
My hearing's just okay.
I spend my days dreaming
Of earlier times with you
When I could run and jump and play
And fetch the ball you threw....
...I have shared with you your laughter,
You have wet my fur with tears.
We've come to know each other
Throughout these many years.
Just one more hug this morning
And as you drive away
Know I will think about you
Throughout your busy day.
I'll faithfully wait here for you
And though my head's a fog
My heart is yours forever.
I promise-
This old dog.

I Heart My Dachshund dachshund dog heart love

"Just a Dog?"
"From time to time, people tell me, lighten up 'it's just a dog', or ‘that's a lot of money to spend on just a dog’. They don't understand. Some of my proudest moments were with 'just a dog'. For many hours, my only company was 'just a dog'. Some of my saddest moments were with 'just a dog', who gave me comfort. 'Just a dog' brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and joy. 'Just a dog' brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. I rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. 'Just a dog' brings out what's good in me. I hope someday you will understand that it's not 'just a dog', but the very thing that keeps me from being 'just a human’.”

OMG!! Precious Angel!! I would love to have that basket on Easter. Too bad she doesn't bring eggs, just dog bombs in the backyard! Hahahaha!

Hope you had a wonderful easter. In-laws left today.. I feel rather exhausted now. I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I've never really laughed and cried at the same time. What I would give to take Enzo out for a beer. The author was very very nice too. He lives in Seattle.

You MUST get her a sundress and bonnet.. after all, spring is here and summer will be just around the corner!!! LOL

I'm happy your dad is on the road to recovery. I have not been logged in for quite awhile. My inlaws are visiting us from Australia and they are in their mid to late 70's and it's hard to keep them entertained. They don't want to go anywhere, do anything except go to Walmart. They love Walmart and you'd think they discovered hog heaven when they shop there. They are fairly well off financially, but they won't spend a dime if they don't have to. Hahahaha! Of course, they are horrified that I fix our dogs boiled chicken and rice and they just could gag that sometimes I let them lick our plates. I love it!

Tell Chloe I said Happy Birthday and I hope the little diva enjoyed her party. That's so funny you all sang to her. I bet she just ate it up like there's no tomorrow.

Great that you have Enzo's book. Isn't it just the best book ever? The author sent me an email reply when I wrote him.. I didn't expect him to reply, but I just had to tell him how much his book touched me. I love the part where Enzo got to go for a ride in the race car. LOL

Hi Chloe, it's been a while since I said hello. Hope you and yours are doing ok. I took my my dachshund, Jack, to the vet today for his monthly Percorten shot. He has Addison's disease and it is always a real adventure.. He hates being in the car. He cries all the way to the Vet, burrowed between my back and the seat of the car. But strangely, he is real quiet on the way home, as if he knows he is going home. We do this every month. It is a hoot!. Well take care and good night, Maria

My thoughts are with your dad.. for a speedy recovery!

When my husband travels, Sasha jumps up on the bed and sleeps on his side.. burying her nose under his pillow. LOL In the morning, she rolls on her back waiting for a belly rub. Too cute, she really misses her Dad when he's gone. If he calls from the road, he asks to speak to her.. and she listens intently. Too cute.

Aki can't jump up anymore, but she prances when you ask if she wants to go to the park or for a car ride. Then she whips her head back and forth and gruffs.. we call her the "white pointer" because she looks like she's devouring her prey. When I take her in the car, she rides in the back and howls and talks like a jaybird. LOL

Aki gets to carry the golden orb to the park, sasha keeps dropping the other one, so I don't let her carry one. Aki guards that ball and never drops it. I throw sasha's with the throwing stick and toss Aki's for her as she doesn't have to run very far. They both come back and wait for the next throw. LOL
