I agree with the both of you seen from that point of view. I have had my own small organisation since 2006. Therefore graphic videos and pictures are part of reality. I cry when I see the conditions that some animals live under the graphic videos an…
my mother adopted 2 cats for me and surprised me when i got home from school when i was 17y.o.
Awshucks and Stuff
although, that was a Millennia ago - and she has since passed, she is still with me in my heart and thoughts.
she was a quiet soul and yet unexpectedly very brave.
she showed me courage and loyalty under fire.
and she had the cutest cat face i had ever seen...and for that i initially renamed her AWSHUCKS! but, fortunately sanity set in before that stuck and renamed her for her coat-of-many colors [mostly, black, dark browns and cream] PEPPER was born. and of her 18 years i had her for 15.
Stuff was given to the animal rescue league due to behavioral problems - so one day a year after she had been given to me as a gift....before i returned home from school, my mother had her picked up. she was very sweet, very affectionate cat.
Pepper and i both missed her when she was gone.
i am eager to adopt 2 [family members or friends] again. however, want to have my home cat-friendly and would like to have health insurance in place for EACH of us prior to doing so :)
Pet likes:
she liked bacon, she licked potato chips and lapped-up ice-cream :)
she also liked to sit on my favorite floor pillow; posed for pictures of which i have hundreds; and sleeping by my head [when i was a teenager]
Pet dislikes:
her annual summer BATH ;(
Pet’s favorite spot:
wherever MY favorite spot was :))
Pet’s favorite toy:
anything with catnip in it.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Pepper was a diva she DIDN'T DO silly things.
HOWEVER, Stuff was the clown! watching her during the night frenzies was hilarious. running around, sliding into walls, flipping over and pretty much looking like a squirrel in cat clothing.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
whenever i was feeling low - Pepper would come and cuddle
but my all-time favorite was after i had her for about a year or 2 an incident took place that was her way of showing me she liked me.
i had just finished washing my hair [long-thick hair at the time] and this particular grooming had taken its toll on me. so when i finished i stretched across my bed - without my glasses on.
[back after a word from our sponsors...]
now there had been major METRO subway construction going on for awhile in my neighborhood
[now back to our story]
as i lie attempting to get my strength back - i could see Pepper looking up at me from the small space b/t the bed and wall. now i don't see well at all without my glasses but of course, i KNEW it was her. she kept looking at me then down at the floor, then up at me. i looked at what she was looking at and it looked like a dust-bunny. so clearly, i was not interested in THAT. but she insisted, stood her ground, and finally got my attention. i put my glasses on saw the object she had so persistently wanted me to look at and admire[?]; and shrieked for my mother to come and get this thing [unconscious mouse] out of my room!
it was hilarious [afterwards]. but her gesture told me she 'approved.' and i think from that point on i always considered her my friend :)
--------------
background:
--------------
she and stuff came from a home where apparently, they were being frightened in some way on a regular basis. so when i first got them i had to re-train them to be at ease with people. they jumped every time i moved [anything]. so by the time of my GIFT Pepper's behavior was a little more outgoing.
I crack up when my pet:
would get caught up in the bed covers - tickled me to no end...
another time that cracked me up, was when Pepper had been with us for about 2 weeks. she had located a nook on top of an old stereo in the dining room and was sitting very prettily when i entered.
well, as i normally did in those days - i was on my way to the kitchen to get something to munch on. and do you know this little...uh um, kitty gave me THE most indignant look i had ever GOTTEN from a...CAT - she looked at me as if i was SHORT :)))
if she could speak she certainly would have said: HOW DARE YOU MOLEST MY VIRGIN EYES-WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO!!!! or something pretty close to it!
i looked at her she looked at me up and down with such an expression of shock & horror on her face, i couldn't do anything but laugh :)) probably annoying her even further :)
i was only wearing my bra and panties so i guess she wasn't used to that in her previous home and was basically telling me to "put on some clothes...you heathen!" :)))
First time on boards. Say hello to Cristal and Cashmere. I adopted them last winter after they were abandoned on the coldest day in January. They were left on the curb in an airline carry-on bag. Luckily a passerby found them and took them to the sh…

Yes, I am from a small town. If you get $50 you are lucky. That is why I support slaughter. The market is flooded with horses. I would like to see people continue to look for good horses in kill pens. We have found some, and we go to some of these a…
I'm not even going to read the post. I have all the info that I needed direct from the source. Remember, no one got nasty with you until you drew your sword first.. this is what happens when someone posts bad information about an organization like t…
I would not call this sever neglect, but I would say that it is enough to have somone look into it. Especially if you are saying that there are numerous horses in a similar condition. If there is a local ASPCA call the, if not you can call or go to…
