Do your animals have roles in their little animal world? My boy cat, Bruce, is in charge of "hunting" for breakfast (AKA waking me up), while my girl cat, Maow, stands on the bookcase meowing at him and supervising. How amusing is that! It's like they're prehistoric cavemen. I should tell my little orange girl that it's 2008 and she's perfectly capable of hunting herself. Last night I was home doing my yoga video (yes, video, I'm old school), which never ceases to amaze my orange girl, Maow. As soon as I get the mat out she comes over to scratch it and sniff it.

At one point I was bent over in downward dog (where your body forms an upside down V) and she actually came under me and started stretching! I kid you not!! I had to stop for a sec and give her furry head a kiss!

I'm very pleased with myself at the moment. In the past I bought beautiful -- and pricier -- Christmas ball ornaments for my tree. And of course, last year many of them shattered at the paws of my kittens.

This year, at the 99 cent store, I bought Christmas balls that are perfectly lovely and they don't shatter! So now when I hear my cats stealing balls from off the tree at 3 A.M., I can smile knowing they're safe (the cats and the balls) and enjoying the holiday season in the…

I recently shopped for a new futon, and made sure to pick a color that would complement my 2 cats' lovely orange hues--since they spend so much time lounging there.

Then I realized...oh wait. I'm actually picking out furniture that would look good with my cats.

Are pets just extra cute and cuddly home accessories?
