A Marine & A Mutt Are Reunited - An Incredible Tale

Ahhh...what an amazing story! I am so happy to hear it! My husband befriended two dogs over there. I feel as though they offer so much comfort to our soldiers in such a desperate time!

Siberian Huskies

My cousin has a husky, and as long as you socialize them well and have a fenced yard you should be fine!

Poor Tiki! I can't imagine! I looked at the pics, and he does look alot like a Carolina Dog. We actually just adopted one. Not from a shelter, but we think he may have been wild-caught by the woman w…

Hi there - I'm not sure what a howl sounds like, Moto is my first dog, ever! He makes a really cute deep sigh when I hug him and he wimpers if we tie him up outside and he kows that we are just out of eyesight. However if I leave him home for a few hours alone, he doesn't bark or anything. I don't have a backyard, just a balconly so there isn't anywhere to dig holes. HOWEVER when I walk him to the beach near my house he digs holes! So I'm sure if we had a backyard he would dig holes. He is overall very quiet and he is ofte complemented for his loving nature and good looks when I take him for walks. I looked at your pictures and I must admit that our dogs look quite similar! It must be that dingo trait! When he was a little puppy he looked just like a rottweiler, but he turned into a 100 looking dingo dog. The only rottweiler left in him is his coloring and his size (at 1 year he is over 70lbs).

Visit (FFASC) Fight For Animal Safety Communities The reason I started this group on the Ning network was to broaden and expand the knowledge of animal cruelty and to gather people to join the site and become one for animals . I don't want to draw members away from the ASPCA community, I just want you all to have a chance to check out the Social Network and maybe join.

Where did you find your CD?

As you may have read in my post to Amber, Quincy was one of 7 six week old puppies found in a forested, swampy area north of Memphis. The rescuers saw several adult dogs watching from deeper in the woods. I'm reasonably sure the puppies were pack babies. I fostered three until two were adopted and then two more until they were adopted, so I got to know five of them. I kept Quincy, because he was the most classic. It took a while for the rescuers to figure out that the pups were
AD/CDs. But once we made a tentative ID, I contacted Jane and showed her the pics and she was positive. She wanted some of them for their breeding program, but the rescue group was flatly against it. That's OK with me; they have all become loved pets. Jane's book is not a great deal more informative than the stuff on the web. The best information can be found searching for articles on primitive and pariah or village dogs. These occur all around the world and share the basic DNA for canis familiaris--the DNA for domestic, as opposed to true wild dogs like wolves, coyotes, foxes. AD/CD's are very similar to the other primitive dogs in all parts of the world. The differ according to their adaption over the millenia to local conditions. Jane's group is now studying the international primitive dog groups, but they haven't gotten far with it. However, there are dozens of academic articles about primitive dogs that you can find on the web.

Obviously, you have fallen in love with your dog! Me, too. I have 6 other dogs. Quincy is by far the gentlest and sweetest one of the bunch. He is amazing to watch--a natural agility master.

Tell me about your pup!

You're incredibly boring. Your threats and foul language are simply no longer entertaining. You should be quite proud of yourself.

i totally agree that all dogs, whatever the breed, should be on a leash. i had a german shepard for 13 years and he was a gentle giant and very well trained. i had a pure pitbull for 10 years and she also was a gentle, sweet dog. i now have a pitbul…
