Yes, it is an animal shelter that I volunteer for. Still helping with spay/neuter once a week. Check my page for pics and story of my latest rescue. I co-fostered her with my daughter who lives around the corner from me.
You sound very busy, but I am going to check in with you once in a while. Keep up the good work. We need more people like you.

Got back from a hiking trip to Colorado. So much work builds up in just a couple weeks, almost caught up. I will go to the shelter to volunteer in the clinic tomorrow, I've not been there for 3 weeks. Always spay/neuter to do, that's a good thing.
Sending you a pic of me on Mt. Shavano, 14,229 ft., we climbed 4,330 ft. to reach the top. This is my way of getting high! : )

- Hi Katrina, it is so nice that you always remember to check in with me. It has been crazy around here. My foster dog, Luca, was adopted to a very nice family. I am now concentrating on getting my Shiloh Shepherd's skin under control. It appears to be allergies, probably pollen, etc., but I can't keep putting him on antibiotics, they are just band aids, and so far antihistamines don't help. I want to know what I am dealing with, and how I can control it. I took him to a different Dr. for a 2nd opinion. She took blood to be sent to a lab for pollen testing. He was pretty bad, rash and sores that would scab over, pretty much from his front leg pits down his chest and belly to inner and back thighs. To get it under control, he is on Cephelexan, and Prednisone. Another shampoo to add to the one I have, he gets lathered up twice every 3rd day. I will not hear about the lab results for a few weeks.
I am going to do a short day at the shelter tomorrow, I hope. We are leaving for St. Louis (4 hours drive) Friday morning. Visiting my nephew and his family. Last week at the shelter a pittie was brought in. My heart just went out this guy. It was apparent from his scars and wounds that he was a bait dog. They were probably done with him and tossed him. It is one thing to see pictures or videos of these dogs, it's heartbreaking to actually hold one.
There I go blabbing on again. Are you working in the equine field yet? That is just so cool! You will have to share some stories.

Does your dog have brown stains in the feet or face? As Barbara has mentioned, check the food with your veternarian because certain dog foods could be causing the dogs system to produce yeast toxins, that is a major cause of allergy toxins.
