shadow, a lab mix, was adopted from a shelter here at 13 weeks of age. she and her 4 sisters and 1 brother came from a high kill shelter in west virginia. she is 2 years old... peaches, an orange american shorthair, had belonged to an elderly neighbor. when she moved in with her niece, my "'lil mama" was left behind. she eventually made her way to my house where i was actually feeding a couple of stray cats at the time (to this day, almost 4 years later, there is still always a full dish of cat food always out on my back deck for whomever may come by...). she started coming down the house all the time and we decided to keep her and adopt her... or rather i think she adopted us... she's been here since.
Pet likes:
peaches- eating, hunting, lounging in a comfy chair or bed
peaches- going out in the snow, being bored, not having her canned food ready right when she wants it...
shadow- being left alone, not being the center of attention at all times...
Pet’s favorite spot:
peaches- curled up on my bed
shadow- in my lap..(all 60lbs of her..)
Pet’s favorite toy:
peaches- does not play with toys..... no really i've tried to find some she would like.. i ended up with a box full of cat toys that she wouldn't touch... so i donated them all.. i kept a couple of catnip mice that she attacks sometimes when shes REALLY bored....
shadow- chew chews!!! tug ropes (until she unravels them..), and her kitty!
Pet’s silliest habit:
they both have a cute eating time set up.......
peaches- she has to choose the flavor of her canned food.. she has 2 b given 2 choices, and then she gets to decide what she wants for that day...
shadow- she has to "beg" 4 her food... she sits up and gives me both of her paws... then she has 2 show me where her food is.. then she runs back 2 her kennel and waits for me 2 finish fixing her dish.....
Thank you Mandy! Unfortunately, we have learned that his abuser will not be charged. He lied to the police and they didn't bother checking the facts with his vet.. so they've decided not to file a report. Frustrating, but I have to move on and think postitive thoughts.. we can't let this get us down.
Hi Mandy. It's been a while since I said hello. Hope you are doing fine. Not much happening with me and my "babies". Took my Jack to the Vet today for his monthly Percorten shot. He hates going to the Vet. Cries all the way there. It's an adventure taking him to the Vet. Well, take care and good night, Maria

Very well put. Greyhounds are offered free to good home all the time on the greyhound database. I paid a symbolic prize for my hands on rescue Tristan you should have seen the state he was in when I picked him up. I kept my cool eventhough I was fur…
