3 cats: Spooky (4), Ruby (3), and Flip (1), Rufus the bearded dragon (3) , and Morrigan the Jack russell terrier. (3)
How we met:
I was volunteering at the humane society, and someone brought in this sweet little JRT. She was so dirty and shaking, but her eyes captured my heart. I had her spayed and took her home the next day! I recently lost my little boy Gentry , an 18 year old JRT, to natural causes. Morrigan filled that empty place...
I decided several years ago that my home was lacking feline influence, so I set out to the shelter to find a cat. Out of all the cats in the cages there was one who was perfectly quiet and still...I took him out and flipped him over on his back and he stroked my face with his paws...it was true love! I named him Spooky, as he solid black, and shortly after adopted a beautiful calico companion for him. Two years ago Flip crawled into my fiance's lap and ended up coming home with us, the one surviving kitten of a litter that was brutally murdered because the owners didn't want to take the time to find homes for them.
Pet likes:
Snuggling, chasing each other around the house at 3am, squeek toys.
Pet dislikes:
Morrigan dislikes anything that sounds like a champagne cork popping. Ruby is afraid of her own shadow. Spooky hates his belly rubbed, but still rolls over on his back whenever you're petting him.
Pet’s favorite spot:
my bed by my feet for the dog, and the cats by our heads
Pet’s favorite toy:
squeeky tennis ball
Pet’s silliest habit:
Morrigan drags her legs straight out behing her body all the way across the floor.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
I left for a weekend and left the pets in the care of my mother. When I came home all of them came tearing around the corner and plowed me over, and we all snuggled and played in a pile on the floor.
I crack up when my pet:
Lays on each other to get closest to me.
My pet is unique because:
They all sleep in one pile together...accept the lizard.
Comon, admit it, it's fun to have a cat that makes constant mess with water, in any place s/he can find it... ! It is the puddle of water working it's way across the linoleum that fascinates him once it is dumped. But even if I need to put him somewhere, even in a carpeted room, he turns over his water bowl. The alternative? a boring cat?
Hi, I signed the petition "maximum penalty for the men who hacked up a puppy." I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Here are the basics of the case:
Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.
If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.
They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.
The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.
The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.
WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.
