I don't know about your specific area but you should check and see if you have a local Golden Retriever Rescue group. Here on the gulf coast of Florida we have the "Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue". The website is: www.ecgrr.com Maybe you can get some info from them. I'm very sorry to hear about Mr. Puppy : (
