Thank you it is nice to know people like you are out there helping the animals. Where would Mankind be without the companionship of our beloved animals.
There are plenty of people who help the humans-who cares about the poor animals??? You guys obviously do, it makes me feel better knowing that there are so many Animal lover,,,

Thank you people for what you do for them.

I wish more people cared about animals. It's so sad that many people just do not care about animal suffering.
I cannot say this enough: everyone needs to spay or neuter their pets. There's too many animals that go to waste because people don't want to get theirs fixed. Have a heart adopt! soooooo many animals not enough good people!

*...Saving just one pet won't change the world ...but, surely, the world will change for that one pet...*

May God bless you hope your having a pleasant day take care and have a wonderful time and alot of joyful moments with your pets in your life and please do keep up the good work. You Can Make a Difference!
You get out of life what you put into life. We all have a voice we just need to use it. But if we stick to it we can make a difference!
Have a nice Day

I am new to the ASPCA website and I've been repeatedly searching for help! To what degree is neglect considered reportable???
I live in Independence, WI 54747 and I have a concern for the neighbors 2 dogs. Their dogs live in a shed with chicken wire fence around it. From what I have noticed and many neighbors have told me these dogs are locked in this pen and never taken out for excersize. Their food is thrown over the fence to them and I don't know how often they are watered.
This is a suburban community and not very many people have pets that are outside due to the age of the people (mostly elderly).
The dogs are mid-sized, maybe pit-bull mixes(???) They are in this small enclosure and they get no excersize except jumping up and down in this enclosure. They used to bark alot so another neighbor complained to the local athorities and the owners then put barking collars on the dogs. After some time the dogs learned how to -squeak- bark with these collars on which sounds worse than the original barking. It's not as loud but sounds terribly MOURNFUL and PAINFUL!!!!
I moved in here May 15, 08 and have heard these comments for the neighbors. I have also heard the squeak barks and have seen the poor dogs doing their pitiful excersize jumps, and now I've been told they have muzzles on them. The temperature outside has been nasty----below -0 with wind chills of -20 to -30 degrees. I called the local POLICE (ha ha) Dept. and reported the neglect of these dogs last week and as in the past no action was taken. I've also noticed that since I reported this to the local police last week there are no new tracks in the snow leading to the dogs terrible living conditions.
My neighbors and I feel sad and it tears or hearts out to see these poor animals in these conditions. We are all somewhat angry that the local Police don't care. What can we do??
PLEASE HELP

Thanks,
Joyce

Hi, I signed the petition "maximum penalty for the men who hacked up a puppy." I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Here are the basics of the case:

Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.

If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.

They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.

The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.

The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.

WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.

To sign the petition, please copy and paste the following link:

Profile Information

My website or blog:
http://www.valhallarescue.petfinder.org
Proud pet parent of:
Gracie, a nearly 14 year old Great Dane,
Rockstar a 3 year old Great Dane,
Booger, an 8 year old pit bull,
Sui, a 6 year old border/lab mix
Paige, an 11 month old Great Dane
Last but not least......
Cassidy our 8 year old manx cat that thinks she's a Great Dane and often walks around the yard with Gracie, meowing the whole way so Gracie won't get lost.
How we met:
All are rescues. My Danes came to me from Dane Outreach, a rescue group here in Washington State that I volunteer for. Booger & Sui were hard to place pets I fostered for PAWS in Lynnwood, WA.

I am also the Director and founder of VALHALLA RESCUE since 1985.
Pet likes:
They like my undivided attention, I like their unconditional love.
Pet dislikes:
They dislike Baths. I dislike giving them baths.
Pet’s favorite spot:
THESE ARE DIRECT QUOTES FROM THEM, (yes they talk to me, don't your's talk to you?)
Gracie says, "Laying in the sun"
Rocky says, "By mama's side"
Sui says, "in the woods with dad"
Booger says, "The little one on my nose that got me my name" (he didn't understand the question I guess).
Pet’s favorite toy:
In this Order,
ME
Dad's Feet
Each other
kongs
and towels.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Booger is a trained search dog and his favorite thing to search for is mice. He was invaluable when we were remodeling our house. If a field mouse got in, we knew about it from "the Boog".

Paige likes to howl like the coyote's in our area and often sits in the back yard calling them, pretty good for a Dane.

Sui is obnoxious about wanting to play fetch and likes to round up all the toys for us to toss....but I should have figured that she'd be like that, she's a Border Collie, Black Lab cross.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
There are too many to mention............................
I crack up when my pet:
They Play...Find something new they've never seen before...Roll on their backs and let the lips fall...Dance for joy when I come home.
My pet is unique because:
They are mine :-)

PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PET!!!
THIS IS FOR ALL MY CAT LOVING FRIEND AND THE CATS I HAVE LOVED

Adopt a Puppy

I am an Animal Rescuer!

My job is to assist God's creatures. I was born with the need to fulfill their needs. I take in new family members without plan, thought or selection. I have bought dog or cat food with my last dime. I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand. I have hugged someone vicious and afraid.
I have fallen in love a thousand times and I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body.

I have Animal Friends and friends who have animal friends.
I don't often use the word "pet."
I notice those lost at the road side and my heart aches.
I will hand raise a field mouse and make friends with a vulture.
I know of no creature unworthy of my time.
I want to live forever if there aren't animals in Heaven,
but I believe there are.
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind?

We may be master of the animals, but the animals have mastered themselves...
Something people still haven't learned.
War and Abuse makes me hurt for the world, but a rescue that makes the news...
That gives me hope for mankind.

We are a quiet but determined army,
and making a difference every day.
There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan,
nothing more rewarding than saving a life;
No higher recognition than watching them thrive.
There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play
who only days ago was too weak to eat.

I am an Animal Rescuer
My work is never done.
My home is never quiet.
My wallet is always empty.
But, my heart is always full.

In the game of life, I have already won.

GRACIE MAE'S LAST SUMMER IS HERE, Will you take this journey with me?

I know I've been saying this for the last 3 years, but I really believe that this is Gracie's last summer with us and I thought I'd start a blog of her days to help me and also to help others coping with deciding when it's the right time to let their companions go.

Gracie, a graceful blue Great Dane came to me 3 1/2 years ago as a rescue from a vet in Eastern Washington. 10 years old, Gracie had been living with the vet and at the clinic since she arrived there almost 3 years prior to th… Continue

GAS PRICES CAUSING RESCUES TO STRUGGLE IN MORE WAYS THAN IMAGINED!

Ok, I'm officially at the end of my rope. Went yesterday to pick up my monthly supply of dog food for the rescue and the price has gone up $5.00 PER BAG!!! Close to a 20% increase and that's with a discount I receive for buying in bulk. Canned foods needed by some also went up .17 cents a can. According to the feed store where I get it, they needed to raise the price due to fuel costs. For a small rescue like me, that's $75-$150 more per month, JUST FOR FOOD!

Last month, the cost of medicines &… Continue
