Orangutans

What’s so special about an orangutan?
Their eyes hold a story that is indecipherable and yet intuitively we relate to them. Just one look into those eyes and you are hooked.Orangutans are highly intelligent with an ability to reason and think. This large, gentle red ape is one of our closest relatives, sharing 97% of the same DNA as humans. Indigenous peoples of Indonesia and Malaysia call this ape "Orang Hutan" literally translating into English as "People of the Forest". In tim

Here In This House

Here in this house... I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'. I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world will not have changed. I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat. I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat. I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness, and be allowed to smell all that can reach my nose. My fur will shine

RX For Animals

How to give a cat a pill: 1. Pick up the cat and cradle it gently in your left arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of the cat's mouth, and gently apply pressure to the cheeks, while holding the pill in your right hand (this is how MY vet told me to pill my cats. I've never seen anything like it, and I've lived in a variety of places that get ice storms. And no one was hurt, for which we are incredibly thankful.

This ice storm reminds me of the ice storm we had in New England back in the 70s and we were with out power for a week. Reminded me of the movie Day after Tomorrow. I hope no dogs were hurt during this storm.
