He (Bobby) was so much a part of my life. What ever I do at home I'm still looking for him to be there. A bad storm just blew in and the first thing I thought of was, where is he and where did I put his pet carrier? I expect to see him walk in the frontroom fussing for more tuna. I am not getting another cat as the management of my building no longer accepts pets.

Yeah, I'm with you. All cats are smart. I do believe that some are born with more "faculties" than others, that's suvival of the species. Some tend to stand out more than others. I used to think my little Xena (not so little when compared to normal cats) was not so bright. She had not been socialized and didn't even know how to play. She had been raised in a cage and was terrified of humans. She had trouble following a toy with her eyes when she was young. But she had Benji to teach her, and she slowly blossomed into the most affectionate, intelligent cat. She surpised me. I used to think she was dim-witted and slow. But she ended up being very intuitive and is the most willing cat to be trained. She can be a sneaky-snake and get into trouble just as easily.
Is any one breed or mix more intelligent than another, nah. It's how they are raised and stimulated to learn. But I'm partial to the Maine Coons. They are definitely very different from the norm.

Regarding Jasmine Baisden: Use Report a problem at the bottom of her page to help us get her off of here...
Go to her page by searching for her name in "members" and then go to the bottom and select "report a problem" and enter in her name and page address... and select "abusive' as the type of complaint. I also included the text from her latest email by just copying at pasting it into the report a complaint form. I have complained about her a month ago and then again today, so if you could also do that, it might help. It is super annoying when people do this and the reason many of us have gone to another ning group. The more reports they get the better.
thanks.

Hi Karen,
I'm not sure which Karen responded to the Catsville group about that Jasmine Baiden complaint, but I was the one who sent out the request for her to stop. I've asked her twice before to cease and desist, but she didn't. After I sent the message out to the cat group, I complained to ASPCA and they took care of her.

Love the pic with the rubber salamander/lizard. She's a very beautiful cat.

Tracy.

Thank you, Karen, for the information. I will check with my Vet to make sure. Muffy does seem to like it, and I don't mind sharing with him!

Hi, I signed the petition "maximum penalty for the men who hacked up a puppy." I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Here are the basics of the case:

Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.

If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.

They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.

The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.

The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.

WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.
