Sorry it has taken me so long to reply but I've been having trouble with my internet connection - all of the nasty storms we've had recently must have messed something up somewhere - but maybe it's fixed now.
About my fuzzy kids: No, they aren't from the same litter. Actually there is about 10 years difference in their ages. My older boy Patrick has some arthritis in his right knee and he was not wanting to play much and he seemed kind of depressed - it was very sad to see since he had always been so very full of life and energy and was the biggest clown I ever met. So I decided to get him a puppy and found Thor - who had been abandoned along with his mom and brother somewhere in Arkansas. He was only 10 weeks old at the time and had hurt his tail somehow and since no one was around it got very infected and had to have the end cut off. So in the pictures Thor is the one with the shorter tail. Anyway, I got in touch with the rescue group and took little Thor. It was just the medicine that Patrick needed to come back around to his old self. I think I put up one picture where there is a big dog (Patrick) and a puppy standing right behind him who only comes about halfway up to the big one's leg, that is Thor on the day I brought him home. They have been best buddies ever since! And Thor is a lot taller than Patrick now.
Yes! Pit Bulls HAVE gotten a bad wrap for sure...I think it was "Pit Bull Haters" That criticall injured poor Pit puppy Milo and dumped him at the Renton Valley Hospital, the didn't even care enough to leave him in front of a vet hospital, they left him in front of a regular people hospital where a security guard found him walking around on exposed bone, I am crying so hard I can hardly see to type...we are on KOMO TV (Seattle) news! I see you have a shepard too! I love mine. Her name is Kaos. She was going to be a police dog but she is scared of everything and they where going to put her down so i took her. She is scared of her own shadow! Your ferrets are cute too! I had one put After the hurricane I lost my house so I found her a good home. It was hard to dobut it was better for her.
The blanket idea is a very good idea. I know it took sometime for my dog to adjust to me bringing a cat into the house. I just made sure that I gave my dog enough attention. I had to stay firm with her and let her know that she couldn't bully the cat. After a month or so they started to get along and are fine with each other now. I would try the blanket idea and see how that works. It would never hurt to try. Good Luck!!!
Good Luck!! Animals sense what we are feeling, i.e. aggression, tension, calm, whatever. If you can insure to them what you are feeling is love and that everthing is ok, they will eventually pick up on that. You may have to work this with them for some times.
