In today's world, don't we all appreciate the grins and giggles wherever we can
get them? Well, we've got one more way to spread some giggles and holiday cheer:
Pop ARF is now offering posters of many of Nathan Janes' most popular paintings!
By purchasing a Pop ARF Poster for the holidays, you will not only be giving a
kick ass gift guaranteed to produce everlasting grins but you also be supporting
an independent artist and avoiding all the chaos found at a mall near you.
Available through the popular online gallery, http://Pupaganda.imagekind.com/ ,
the posters can even be purchased framed so you have a thoughtful and unique
present ready to be wrapped.
A number of poster sizes and framing options are available through Imagekind's
easy to use website so go there today and give a big wet puppy kiss for the
holidays!
Dear Greer, I have so much respect for what you do. I too have a passion for animals and was wandering if you would be able to help guide me the the direction that I would like to go. Being able to work with you and learn from you would be a pleasure. Please let me know if you are open. If not, it's ok. Please keep up the great work and continue giving a voice to those who can not speak for themelves. :)
Thanks for your message about BJ. I am sad to say he passed away on August 26th. We had a short but very sweet amount of time together. He was a true blessing. Megan
I have two small dogs that I think will make good thearphy dogs. One is a Shitz Tuz that thinks he is the ambasader for the neighborhood. He has to sniff and lick everyone. The other is a rescue from The Souix Falls humane society. I just had a DNA test done on her and will find out if she is a westhighland terrier or a scottish terrier in about 3 weeks. We just got her Sunday and she already goes everywhere with me. We do not know that much about her since she was found woundering the streets of Souix Falls South Dakota with a yorkie, but I do know she is a sweetheart doesent have a mean bone in her body. She is well behaved in public; and tends to switch between walking on my left and right side. If there is noise that I dont hear she will stay on my right side and move to my left side when I start to walk into something on that side. She seems to have picked up that I am almost deaf in the right ear; and I recently became leggely blind, 20/200 vission, in the left eye from having a focet explode into my left eye at work. What do I need to do to have my two babies trained and certified as thearphy dogs so I can take them into nursing homes and to visit sick children. Shayna Dickinson.
Hi Greer. I just saw your comment to me. Dixie and I have not been visiting anywhere. In fact, she is currently in VT with Kevin Behan, a natural dog trainer, working with her on her issues with other dogs. We are spending the summer in NW MASS and perhaps will be available in the fall/winter. I think Mt.Sinai will be best situated for us if anything is available and appropriate there. Thanks for checking in.
Hi Greer,
Kirby posted a comment to me about a library program in Queens. He said the current pet partners are retiring. Do you have any additional contact information?
Thanks,
Hi Greer no still working on it, really need two people to help out especially when someone is at the door. I can tell by the way my female Akita barks in the back what is going on, she has a different bark for everything and she is my blind one but she sure can hear. I would love to get something started in training here in Albuquerque so that we could train alot of the dogs in the animal shelters, that way they would have a job and a home. Any ideas on how we can get that going everywhere in the United States?
Hope your weekend is going good and I do look forward hearing back from you soon.......Pam
Hi Greer!
I was just thinking of you! I FINALLY finished jumping through all of the hoops :) on Monday. I will email you with the details and questions for getting started. I hope all is well! Best, Kirby and Sophia
Hi, Greer. Any chance of you starting a forum for Delta evaluators? I'm pretty new to this and it would help to have more experienced people to discuss things with. Susan Stone has been mentoring me. I don't know what I'd do without her.
Hey Greer!
Thank you so much for the invite! Sophia and I are thrilled to be a part of the group. I have been in touch with the volunteer coordinator at Morgan Stanley and we're trying to get things moving. I completed the hospital's volunteer workshop and the last step is for me to go in for the health check etc. Also, do you know the woman who is running the pilot studies at Sloan Kattering - with the breast cancer patients? She contacted me about getting involved and I was wondering if you had any info? Anyway, thanks again for everything - I hope all is well! Give Clayton a hug for me!
Hi Greer,
Thank you for inviting me to join this group. Missy and I are pet partners and are trying to find a location for a Reading partner program. I live on Long Island and have been in contact with my local public library(no dogs allowed!) and a local adult residence(no volunteers accepted at this time). In both instances, I presented information on Delta Soc. and Reading Partners, provided my professional credentials as a teacher and a list references that were checked. We seem to get close, but then the decision is made that the facility can't use us.
Do you have any contacts in Nassau County that might be open to a Reading Partners program? Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the invite... I look forward to getting into the swing of things this year... Dixie is growing older and we are looking for a good placement opportunity. Hope to get some leads in this forum... as well as the hints and tips!
P.S. I'm not sure I know how to really use this forum but will figure it out eventually!!! :)
The breeder we got Nell from had her on Eukanuba. She did not seem to like that so I switched her to large breed Bil Jack puppy. She likes that better, but she still is not in love with it. I add Eukanuba puppy canned to it and that helps a little.
