Please help. My cat gets severely depressed if I go away. When I return, his psychosomatic issues manifest themselves. His bladder constricts, and then he pees blood, in the same three places in the apartment OUTSIDE THE LITTER BOXES.
I have two litter boxes this is not the problem. I have brought him to the vet every time this has happened and NOTHING is working. Please someone give me some advice. I've tried it all. I haven't slept since I've been back because he head buts me ALL NIGHT long, just to make sure i know he's there. He was abandoned by his first owner, and has not forgotten.

Replying to get another cat..how does this solve the problem?
What do you suggest she does with this cat?
Will you take this cat or will you sentence it to a life or death in a shelter?

First off, I'm glad that you posted this. Please do not give up. Did the vet suggest an anti-anxiety medicine? I believe there is a version of Prozac that comes in an easy chewable treat.
I have a female cat that does this but not the blood thing
she gets mad at me she peee right in front of me.
she has to sleep with me on my left side and
as to be touching shin or she's not happy.
and if it's bed time for her and I am not ready to go to bed
she well bug me to no end. I have to go turn on the
elec blanket for her and she'll lied down for about 1- mintues
and come back to get me like Ihave to go to bed now too.
I ahve to close my office door to get work done.
He's just dependen on you. But the bloond thing is health
issue. I don't think a cat can make himself do that.
may be speacial food. Cat's don't like to drink water
so may be salt his food a little very little see if that
helps. If the Vet can find it find a new vet
something is going on there.
Good luck keep us posted.
Do you have another cat to keep him company??? I adopted a second cat because they can get terribly lonely and bored. At first your cat may hiss and run from the new cat, but they will become friends. Give them separate litter boxes. Glad that you take him to the vet to make sure this is not a medical issue.
The question about "peeing blood" was posted in October. It is now February. I am disappointed to have had no feedback/info on how this turned out. Bloody urine is not entirely, (as more than one poster here pointed out), a psychosomatic issue, there is a medical one, too.

Vladmir,
I agree with your post.
Blood in urine can signify many medical issues..urinary tract infection...not just for female felines but males as well..I have had two diagnosed with this before.
As for the separation anxiety issue...try anything and everything...climbing/scratching posts...music or even the television left on when you leave home...but also take this feline for a full veterinarian check-up. As for felines not drinking enough water..this can be true..but there are many options to increase their water intake and it can be as simple as adding water to their canned food or even giving them canned tuna in water as well as investing in a pet water flowing fountain which has worked on my felines.
I want to thank everyone for all their advice. I brought my cat to the vet - he gave him antibiotics - which did nothing but make him vomit. He gave me a different antibiotic, and my cat was foaming at the mouth. Clearly I stopped going to that vet. About a week later, my cat stopped peeing blood. I even went away twice in the past 4 months, and my cat was fine...Now, it started up again. Clearly my cat has some bladder problem. I now have to find a new vet, and figure out what to do....on a budget. My cat is peeing in teh corner, going to the litter box often, and he keeps trying to lick himself - he is sick and uncomfortable...Ugh.
