I know you're probably asked this all the time, but how did you come to be a special investigator? Did you major in a related field in college? Or did you train to become a peace officer first? Please explain - I'd love to hear your story!

I come form a family of police officers and I spent a short time with NYC Housing Police. I applied for the position of Special Agent and then was promoted to Special Investigator. I heard about this job, and I was thrilled. I did not know that this type of job existed, I feel this is one of the most satisfying positions within law enforcement.

Yes ... but shouldn't the police be humane law enforcement and ASPCA animal law enforcement or just law enforcement intsead the ASPCA be the HLE?

I've already seen it, I'd love to do something like that too but you need to be american I guess, and in Brazil or Italy we don't have animal police. But the only thing I don't understand is that there's a vet who I'm sure she's portuguese, Jerusa Paiva, isn't she portuguese ???
