I have been told that any type of air Freshener is bad for your cat, is this true and why?

Hi Michelle,

Air freshener products can be used in households with cats or dogs, provided that they are not sprayed or used in close proximity to the animal, and that there is adequate ventilation in the room(s). If your cat has a history of respiratory problems (feline asthma, allergies, etc)., you may want to consult with your regular veterinarian to determine if the use of an air freshener in your home is acceptable.
