Well, I hope that is not the case in New Hampshire. It is against the law in every state to abuse an animal so complaints of abuse should be taken seriously by the police and local officials. I am sure that there are animal agencies in New Hampshire that are trying to do whatever they can to protect the animals in your state. Can anyone out there help out with some specifics on New Hampshire?
they do nothing except slap you on the hand and send you home, i have been doing rescue here 14 years ,most towns here dont even have a dog officer. you call the police for an animal abuse case and half the time they dont even show up ,or when the state police show up they do nothing!! isnt abandoning an animal and leaving them tied up 3 weeks abuse neglect ?? no food no water. , some of the cases i have seen are unbelievable !1 if someone out there knows anyone in NH ,who cares that can actually do something to these abusers please tell me who they are so i can contact them, since noone else does anything ,that includes senate house ETC cathy
We are having this same problem, in a specific county in Missouri. We have recently started a humane society. At these meetings I am appaled at the stories people tell, of animals being dropped-off, and reports of blatant animal cruelty, and they are told there is no way to enforce these laws. Nothing is done about it.
How would someone (or a group of people) go about making sure the law-enforcement officials are aware of the laws, and how would we get them to enforce the laws?
very good question !! id like to see laws enforced ,and id like to see the laws stricked, put the abuser in jail, someone who tortures an animals should be put in jail not a 500 fine and be sent home, let the punishment fit the crime ,they should do to the abusers what they do to these helpless animals that cant defend themselves, and should be minimum of 5 years at least in prison for any kind of cruelity or neglect no exceptions,,
I know! Cruelty happens in the small states, too and I wish we could do something! I live in NH and besides seeing the singular animal control man in my town, I havent seen much that helps animals. My friends and I are trying to change that.
