Need unity of ways and means to counter cruelty we see in horse racing!

In viewing responses from the death scene of Eight Belles, we all seem to be
in agreement that we are sickened by the handling of this beautiful
creature being put out of her misery. Misery that she should not have had
to endure. We also know that this scene will probably happen again.
The urge to lash out at this industry of racing needs to be funneled into
positive action. Do we write articles, sign petitions. We need unity in our
resolutions. Nancy Weir

I agree with you that there needs to be changes. Keep in mind, though, running is as natural to horses as eating. I believe we can make changes within the sport so the horses can continue racing safely. But, I heartily agree we do not need to see a scene like that again. Letters and email seem to be the most effective and I believe all horse lovers should come together and make this industry more safe for the horses. Thank you, Emily Benavidez
