I received a link to Verizon's LG Dare Commercial of 2 Pit Bulls being chained as guard dogs. I am very angry about this commercial in which we are trying so hard to save and rescue many Pit Bulls because the public see's them a viscous dogs. Here we are trying to fight BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) and educate the public that these dogs are not what the public perceives them to be. Pit Bulls are the most misunderstood, abused, used for dog fighting, and the first to be put down.
Just what is Verizon thinking here? Have they been listening to the news about Pit Bulls? Here they are making this commercial and sending the wrong message in this commercial.
It's time we took a stand and help fight for Pit Bulls! We started a petition you will find underneath the commercial ad.
Below this article you will find news articles written about this.

Accountability
We take responsibility for our actions as individuals, as team members, and as an organization. We work together, support one another and never let the customer—or our coworkers—down.
Great companies are judged by what they do, not by what they say. To be the best, we’re going to keep pushing ourselves in new and exciting directions. These values guide our every action.

Thank you for contacting the Verizon eCenter. I have received your email dated
July 16, 2008 regarding the LG Dare commercial. My name is Christina, and I
will be happy to assist you.
I apologize for the delay in my response, and I regret any inconvenience to you.
Thank you for your feedback. We take your feedback quite seriously and it is
not our intent to offend anyone. It dismays us that our customers have found
this commercial offensive. We recognize your concerns and are reviewing the
situation.
Thank you for using Verizon. We appreciate your business.
Well, we are up to 1,913 signatures in less than 3 days. Pretty good momentum, I'd say.
And thank you Vlad, I did edit the petition and incorporate your thoughts!! (verbatim actually!!)
You think it's going slow? almost 2000 in 36 hours and that is 'work days'. I think you may see it move over the weekend when some workers who can't do 'personal things on their office machines' and have kids, spouses, dinner etc. when they get home.... have real personal interest time on their computers at home. More and more mgt. are monitoring their employee computers. Maybe a fresh e-mail to friends this weekend that doesn't stand as much of a chance of 'delete' when folks clean up their inbox of accumulated work week spam overload. I would ..maybe add a word or two to Subject line implying recipient's personal interest like maybe : Joe, read this. Urgent!
But then again, we all now know, adding words is a BAD habit of mine.....;o)
I must say, out of all the comments, I've only deleted one so far. That was because of totally rude commentary. Sorry, we need to be capable
of expression, sans expletives.
Otherwise, it serves no good purpose.
I understand the signers passion, just don't need the rudeness.
There's a story on the Stop BSL Community that says Verizon Wireless says the dogs are "actors" & asks people to contact the CEO! This is an irresponsible travesty! When will the media learn that they perpetuate the violence?
