- Chester, a 10 year old Rat Terrier/Basenji mix
Moppet, a 2 year old mixed breed long-haired cat
Eiji, a betta
- How we met:
- Chester and I met at a Humane Society shelter in Ponca City, OK when I was 14 years old. I had been looking at the other dogs there, but this little puppy with the big blue eyes captured my heart, and needless to say, he's been with me ever since. He lives with my parents since my apartment doesn't allow animals, but I get to see him every week.
Moppet and I met when he showed up on my porch. He was an orphaned six month old, who was very hungry, skinny, and also very friendly. He was determined to come inside with me, and he has never wanted to return to the outside. He is a truly spolied little person. Eiji is a betta that I picked out after my older betta, Edo, had passed away after being with me for five years. He is a fancy crested blue and crimson boy; he's beautiful...and he knows it! Many people don't view fish as companions, but let me tell you that bettas are some of the most sociable, loveable and intelligent of all fish! Eiji does live with me, in his little tank. :)
- Pet likes:
- Chester: Broccoli(yes, I said broccoli), peanut butter, new tennis balls
Moppet: Tuna, sleeping, bird watching, catching flies
- Pet dislikes:
- Chester: Loud noises...he had a rough puppyhood before I got him.
Moppet: My sister's cats (they like to gang up on him), baths, and being told 'no'.
- Pet’s favorite spot:
- Chester: Sleeping on the couch with his blanket.
Moppet: Sleeping in 'his' chair
- Pet’s favorite toy:
- Chester and Moppet: Anything they are given to play with :)
- Pet’s silliest habit:
- Chester: Rubbing his nose into the couch after he's gotten a treat.
Moppet: Sitting and staring at you with his mouth open.
- Pet’s sweetest moments:
- Chester: being there when I needed someone to talk to, or ask advice from (he's always a great listener).
Moppet: climbing in my lap to 'cuddle' or the nice purring and rubs he gives when he knows I'm upset.
- I crack up when my pet:
- Chester: When he does his 'wild puppy' routine through the house, which he does after he's been outside, or he's just had a bath.
Moppet: When he 'chatters' wildly at the birds through the window, or when he helps me 'read' the newspaper.
- My pet is unique because:
- Chester and Moppet: They are beautiful, unique 'people' because I don't think I could ever find another one like either one. They both definitely broke the mold when they came into this world!
