- i have five horses, with one on the way, first there is dandy she is a 8 year old sorrel and white paint mare, she was skin and bones when i got her, she is my heart. and there is angel she is my palomino mare and will be 6 and having a baby, she was 7 months when i got her and very skinny, and there is my beautiful black and white overo stallion, chase man, when my dallas died three years ago, she sent me chase. he is so funny, and he is the daddy to my baby that will be born in may (firecracker) and then there is my beautiful palomino gelding casey, he has me so wrapped up i love him to death, and there is his beautiful half sister she is a buckskin and her name is dakota, i went all the way to north dakota to get them. baby dakota has bad knees, and i belevie in my heart if i didn't get her she would have been sent to the killers, and she is so so sweet. i have had horses since i was 13 years old. and i have loved them all so much, and the ones i have loss i still cry for them, but i know one day we will all be together again. then there are my beloved dogs , i have two heelers cassie and cody, four mini aussies ice, buck, spice and baby dallas. and there is my lucas he is a lab cross. which somebody threw out to die 3 years ago. my friend pam help me save him, he is a wonderful dog and loves my horses, and there is my cat kiki she showed up about three months ago and she is wonderful. i love them all.

It's so easy to condemn that person with the pole.
But when you look, you see just one and not the picture as a whole.
This isn't just a job to us, this is our everyday.
We see the battered bodies and broken spirits and can't just walk away.
Some of them seem to know that we are there to help
And for most, it's the only love they have ever felt.
We didn't create the problem but it's our job to stop the pain.
Sometimes there are so many it feels like it's in vain.
I wish that you could see the questions in their eyes.
Answers that we don't have, we can't tell them why,
As they lie there on the table and take that final breath.
Our only comfort is, they won't be cold or hungry after death.
There is no time for tears but you can't imagine how we feel,
And the wounds that are inflicted will take far too long to heal.
We carry around the guilt for the ones we couldn't save,
But we'll come again tomorrow for the new ones here that day.
They won't know why you've left them or what it was they'd done,
We know you won't be back but they'll still wait for you to come.
Sometimes it makes us angry and we don't understand,
How you can make this mess but their deaths are on our hands.
We will not give up, we will continue in our fight,
To try and stop the hurt and try to end their plight.
I hope that you can see we are not the ones to blame,
Now on the streets or in the shelter, will you still look at us the same?
