Fergus (fabulous little dog--my "little man"); Frank, Jack, and Morty (3 precious budgies ).
How we met:
Fergus chose our family when we went to visit his parents' litter. I adopted Frank, Jack, and Morty from a neighbor who was terminally ill and could not take care of them--they didn't have names (sad), so I named them immediately--found out after reading and taking them to the clinic that they're all girls. I decided to leave their names, because I had been talking with them almost constantly for a couple days and we were all used to the names.
Pet likes:
Fergus--naps, hugging, walks, yelling at his treats (I think they must talk to him, or taunt him somehow), scratches (he can NOT resist the "scratch").
Morty--oat groats, sunshine, squawking for long periods for no apparent reason, head-bobbing, preening, smooching Jack and Frank.
Frank--millet spray, sunshine, watching Morty carry on endlessly (maybe that's a dislike), smooching Morty and Jack.
Jack--climbing, sunshine, millet spray, smooching Morty and Frank.
Pet dislikes:
Fergus--loud noises, being out-of-the-loop when big people are talking, nail-clip appointments and baths, violent sound effects from the television.
Morty--sometimes she doesn't want me talking or singing to her--she does this little hiss that's so cute; hates the sound of the paper shredder.
Frank--she's pretty mellow about everything, I think.
Jack--sometimes gets sick of Morty's smooches and spends a lot of time and energy evading her. (I should've named Morty "Peppy la Pew").
Pet’s favorite spot:
Fergus--under the coffee table.
Frank--largest swing.
Morty--small, round swing.
Jack--any swing for sleeping, wood branch perches during the day.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Fergus--stuffed toy squirrel, which he gutted two years ago and just drags around the empty carcass.
Budgies--each other, shred-a-boxes, toys they can pick apart and destroy.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Fergus--sneezing whenever he wants attention directed to him or is irritated.
Budgies--taptaptap on hard surfaces with their beaks and head-bobbing.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Fergus--stretching and yawning every time he wakes up.
Budgies--chirping (Morty-squawking) when I've been gone for awhile and get home.
I crack up when my pet:
Fergus--kicks his leash to let me know he wants to go out. Sometimes he gets really irritated if I don't respond to him immediately--rears up and kicks it around with both feet, making as much noise as possible.
Budgies--head-bob.
My pet is unique because:
Fergus--he just is. My little, gorgeous man.
Budgies--sweeties who came to live with me when we all really needed each other.
