Hi Patricia, I think the first step would be to get in touch with an existing rescue and open your home to fostering an animal or two, to learn how things work

I am commenting about your comment on my picture URGENT 13 Puppies.
They are actually being given an extended time. I used to volunteer at the shelter, their are only ten pens, as many dogs are placed in, depending on size. these puppies have a whole pen to theirselves. Because they were dropped off without a signature, they are considered strays, which means they have to stay at least five day, just in case an owner comes to pick them up, its required for all strays. Other dogs will be coming into the shelter, room has to be made, they are giving these puppies as much time as possible, I am posting their story all over the place, but this shelter, despite changing their name, is STILL a kill shelter, I am trying to help out as many dogs as possible, the shelter employees are also trying their best, but they can't keep them forever. De

I CAN however, check with the shelter I am currently volunteering at, it is possible that they may be able to take one or to, but that it is, the shelter has just recently been getting some successful adoptions, the shelter has been emptying out of dogs, but taking all 13, they won't be able to do that, I will email them and see what can be done.

Thats good. I would love to pursue a proffession that helps animals. Too bad I can't stand needles. Do you know about dog tumors?
