- Buddy (Collie Mix) and Bridget (Aussie Mix).
- How we met:
- At the local shelter.
- Pet likes:
- Buddy likes to roll around on his back in the dirt, lay with his belly on the cold linoleum floor (they call that 'puppy legs'), and stay close to us where he feels safe. Bridget likes to collect rocks and sticks out in the backyard and bring them in to play with, she likes to use a 'pillow' when she is sleeping, and she is learning to dig holes (for fun only, not to escape) from Buddy.
- Pet dislikes:
- Buddy: Yelling, Scolding, and the toaster when it pops up. Bridget: Medicine, the vet, and being sick.
- Pet’s favorite spot:
- They both like the Office the best. That's where they have their own couch.
- Pet’s favorite toy:
- Buddy doesn't care for toys, but Bridget likes her 'puppy purse' that says "I Love You" when you squeeze it.
- Pet’s silliest habit:
- Buddy: All night long he licks, and licks, and licks...
Bridget: She steps in her #1 and #2 all the time! Ewww...
- Pet’s sweetest moments:
- Buddy: When he is sleeping he is so sweet, he curls up in a ball.
Bridget: When her daddy comes home at the end of the day she wags her tail really fast and puts her ears down as she runs up to him....so happy to see him!
- I crack up when my pet:
- Buddy: Gets mad at Bridget if she gets in his face, even if he is the one that walks up to her!
Bridget: When she is sleeping, she barks.
- My pet is unique because:
- Buddy: He was already and 'old man' when I got him from the shelter. When I saw him in the kennel, his pretty long coat was all matted and he looked as though he had given up on life. He didn't even get up to visit with people. When I got him home, he got a full grooming (The Works!) and people constantly comment how beautiful he is.
Bridget: From 6 weeks to 10 weeks of age she fought against all odds to overcome Kennel Cough, Bronchitis, and then Pneumonia. She's a survivor...I call her my little firecracker.

Some very sad news...
My puppy, Bridget, passed away last night on December 19, 2007 at 11:00pm.
After being in the hospital for 6 days, her Pneumonia and Parvo finally caused her severe respiratory distress and I authorized the hospital to euthanize her. She fought long and hard, and was a real fighter, but there was no longer anything that…

"JUST A DOG"
From time to time, people tell me, "Lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "That's a lot of money for "just a dog."
They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or
the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
