Beau the White Snow Cat by Carolyn McFann

This is the artist's Turkish Angora cat, Beau. He is really that white, and his fur glows under light. It was painted on Photoshop using airbrush.

Profile

My website or blog:
http://www.cafepress.com/twopurringcats
Proud pet parent of:
Blackie (now in Heaven), Beau (5 ), and Fluffy (14 ). Beau is white, deaf and loves to sing. Fluffy is sweet, quiet and sleeps all the time.
How we met:
Blackie was dropped off in a parking lot, and it was love at first sight. He and I were inseparable for his whole life. Beau was brought to me, saved from euthanasia at the last minute, and Fluffy was a rescue off the streets of Cleveland.
Pet likes:
Beau is welded to my side at all times (loves everything), and Fluffy is independant, sleeping nearly all the time in his recliner. He loves food and lots of brushing.
Pet dislikes:
Going to the vet. Taking pills or having flea meds put on.
Pet’s favorite spot:
Cat tree, recliner and mom's lap.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Blackie loved to play, and his favorites were q-tips, milk bottle rings and anything with catnip in it. He had a TON of toys. Beau and Fluffy don't play much.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Beau loves to sing. He will break into spontaneous song whenever the mood hits. It's pretty amazing, since he can't hear himself but he loves to do it. Opera cat.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Blackie used to sleep in my hair, and followed me everywhere during the day. He was the most loving cat, and had a caring personality. If something was bothering me, he'd come to me and try to cheer me up. I miss him horribly.
I crack up when my pet:
Beau clears shelves. He is the master. Any shelf he sees, he must knock everything off of it. No exceptions.
My pet is unique because:
Blackie was unique because he was more human than cat. He preferred people food, and flew with me to Mexico, travelled with me across the US, and loved hotels. Wherever I was, he was happy and had fun. Both of us were miserable when I took vacations without him, and he'd wrap his furry self around my neck whenever I came home. He was amazingly unique.

A Cat's Prayer

I hope I'm not asking too much, Lord
All I want is a home of my own
And to know when my next meal is coming
Instead of the scraps I get thrown
I've been out in the cold far so long now
Coping as best as I can
But it's not so long I've forgotten
The touch of a soft caring hand
I look in house windows at Christmas
As cats doze by the fire, quite replete
How I'd welcome a box in the kitchen
And tasty food for me to eat
For me there was tinsel and gift wrap
But the fun didn't last very long
They put me out with the rubbish
I don't know what I did wrong
I really don't want to be greedy
At the moment I'm all skin and bones
So would it be too much to hope for
That someone will give me a home?

Animals, especially my pets, are a huge part of my life, since I am a nature illustrator by trade. I live, breathe and draw/photograph animals. Work has taken me to different states and countries, and wherever life takes me, I look for and relate with the critters that come my way. I'd love to hear from other animal lovers of all ages. Animal people are the best people :) The new year is here, so now is the time to get a great animal calendar. Check out my latest calendar, full of animal artwork. A lot of hard work went into putting it together, but it's a labor of love to me, love of animals:

This is a 120-page journal, featuring different parrots, from cockatoo to budgies, on the cover. I use these journals myself, and they are great for school. http://www.cafepress.com/twopurringcats.149068301

please accept ms precious in your group, i am sitting her crying because i have lost the love of my life , she lived for 18 years, which people say is a long time but for me it will never end, i have her ashes now but, its funy because at times i think i see her or hear her,but i know she has joined her friends in kitty heaven but still...........sometimes the greive is so much to bear she was a good girl, a big girl, a smart, and brave girl who held on for all long as she could but i decided enough was enough cause cancer and kindey failure was racking her body and after 2 surgeries not to much moree could be done but it was the harderst decision ive ever had to make, but i did it for love and for ms precious sso please know she was well cared for spoiled and loved by so many, thank you for this site from the late ms.precious and irene aka tigress.
