Profile

Proud pet parent of:
Boots and Andy
How we met:
Both my cats were adopted from an animal shelter that I volunteer for. I first adopted Boots who I thought was the most adorable kitten I had ever seen. He is very easy going and loves everyone. He is also very independent and doesn't like to be handled or picked up at all.
Then there is Andy. My kids wouldn't leave Petsmart until I said "yes" I will adopt him. He was 7 weeks old and I wasn't looking for such a young kitten. I wanted to give a home to an older cat but the kids won again. My two boys became instant friends. It only took Boots one day to accept Andy and would cry outside the door of the room I had Andy in. I just love them both so much and couldn't imagine my life without them.
Pet likes:
Boots: likes to play and rough with Andy. Andy is very gentle and just freezes when Boots gets into his wild mood. He loves for me to chase him around the house and he will chase me back. Boots loves everyone, even guests that come over and will go right up to friend's dogs.
Andy is more reserved. He loves me the most and can always be found wherever I am. He also loves Boots and won't eat unless Boots is next to him. I worry about that one day if something happens to Boots first. Andy is 2 1/2 years old now and looks and plays like a kitten. They both love their food.
Pet dislikes:
Noise. Whenever there is construction going on, they hide. They are also more afraid of some men; getting their nails trimmed, and sometimes being picked up (Boots mainly).
Pet’s favorite spot:
Laying next to the heating vent, my bed, window sills, and sometimes on my lap.
Pet’s favorite toy:
A feather wand toy and the banana shape catnip toy. They rip a hole in it immediately and I find catnip everywhere.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Andy: loves to rub against everything he passes. He just rubs, rubs, rubs. He has to be the happiest, sweetest cat I have ever met.
Boots: when he wants to play, he comes up to me and touches me with his paw and then runs to the stairs and lays sideways, holding on with his nails so I can come after him and chase him.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Boots: will go from room to room and lay next to one child and then next to my other one. He will lay on top of you and knead for a couple minutes before plopping down on your belly for a few minutes so you can pet him in the middle of the night.
Andy jumps up to reach your hand when you bend down to pet him. Also, whenever he passes Boots, he stops and licks his head and rubs against him too. Andy is just a sweety in every way.
I crack up when my pet:
Gets in his silly mood and wants me to chase him.
Andy use to follow Boots into the litterbox everytime Boots had to use it. It was the funniest sight but I felt sorry for Boots.
My pet is unique because:
he is who he is. I have learned to accept that. I love them both for being unique.

Well, I'm not sure what to tell you without knowing the situation in person. Have you tried any of the other remedies I suggested? particularly the Rescue Remedy?
Its not the same as Feliway

PS: for asthma sufferers, try Stinging Nettles, this is just leaves ground up, but has the effect of an antihistimine without the side effects. You can get it at any health food store or vitamin shop. Look for a standardized mixture so that it is potent. Good alternative to drugs!

Absolutely, I am praying for the pair of you. I am happy that this story will have a good ending, it gives me strength to carry on the fight we engage in each day, on behalf of animals everywhere...

I only have one cat, the small longhaired cat is one that I fostered for 10 days before she suddenly died. I took her from a very neglectful situation and I am still traumatized by this and think about her every day. I wish I had intervened sooner, by the time I got her it was too late, (although, I did not know this). I don't really like that the page format for the Community has changed (again), that means that the captions for your photos are not visible unless someone clicks into the 'view all' pane, that is too bad.
