- Proud pet parent of:
- 8 cats - Luna (mother of most and almost lost two weeks ago due to a poison we think she got into outside), Rascal, Timothy, Mini Mouse, Friskie, Midnight, Lucky and Smokie.
We mustn't forget Jamie (James Bond) our cross between a Chiwawa and Yorkie! He's the "cat herder"! Most are bigger than him!
- How we met:
- 6 of the 8 were kittens from litters we had (until finally getting fixed), and the last two (Lucky and Smokie) were my own rescues (side of road and tranny shop). Unfortunately, I've lost 3 of the last 4 kittens in a litter and 1 about a year old by way of the woods. Don't know exactly what happened to them, but I miss them terribly. I'm really hoping they wandered into a nice family's home and they kept them. I hate to think another animal might have gotten them.
- Pet likes:
- They all like being patted and loved. They know when it's time for food too!! I love ice cream, so when I do have it, each one gets a "night" at the bottom of the bowl for a sweet treat! They also love sitting outside with me when I'm having a fire in the fireplace. They're such companions with their own separate personalities, I love them all so much!!!!!!!!
- Pet dislikes:
- As we all know, cats hate the rain. Jamie dog doesn't much like his baths either!!
- Pet’s favorite spot:
- Either on my bed or on the 6 level wood-carpeted perch that my husband and I made for the back porch. It's really cool, and goes from floor to ceiling, with a 4 x 4 holding the separate perches at different levels. They love to play and sleep on it. They also have scratched 1/2" groves into the 4x4 to sharpen their claws! Better than in the house I must say!!! Jamie dog usually stays on his "mama's" bed or mine for the night, and hangs out on the couch during the day, when he's not refereeing the cats or playing with one of us!
- Pet’s favorite toy:
- The cats love those darn lizards we have here in NC. Jamie dog has a nobbied ball or tug of war toy.
- Pet’s silliest habit:
- They all have silliness to them when playing with each other or just the leaves blowing in the yard. Jumping sideways with the back up is just the funniest!
Jamies dog, when he's ready to play ball, will actually throw the ball at you with his mouth!
- Pet’s sweetest moments:
- When it's time to cuddle!!!! Actually, Timothy, Rascal and Mini Mouse stayed near Lunda when she was sick, as if to try and take care of her!! It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen!
- I crack up when my pet:
- When the cats start playing or fighting, he'll jump in between and start barking, trying to break them up!! It's a riot! Don't forget, they're bigger than him too!!!
- My pet is unique because:
- They are all unique in my eyes, each and every one!!
