Pilot's Dilemma.
You are a South African bush pilot. You fly in some critical medical supplies, enjoy a quick lunch at the hospital.

It's a stifling 100 degrees, in the shade and no shade. You're eager to get back up to the cool, high blue yonder. On the way back to your plane, you discover that the only bit of shade, within 10 miles, has become very popular . . . You start calculating the distance to the plane door.. . and wonder . . .

"Do I feel lucky today?"

OHIO TO BAN PIT BULL TYPE DOGS???

Ohio State Representative Tyrone Yates has proposed House Bill 568 that, if passed, will prohibit the ownership of "pit bull" type dogs in the State of Ohio.

If House Bill 568 passes, all "pit bull" owners will be required to surrender their dogs to the dog warden within 90 days of the effective date of the proposed law. The bill provides that a dog warden "shall" euthanize all "pit bulls" within 10 days of their surrender.
In addition, a dog warden or other officer who has probable cause to believe that a dog is a "pit bull" type dog, may apply for a search warrant. With the search warrant, the officer will have the authority to seize the dog and surrender it to the dog warden to be killed.

Please tell me what breed you think this is. Yes, he's tiny & fits in a cat bed. His legs are like sticks but long, has an underbite and a cropped tail.

Oh that is so funny - I can remember telling him with those ears sticking out sideways he looked like Yoda - he would squint his eyes and look just like him! I can't tell you how thrilled I am that he is in such a happy home. God Bless You!

He was in such terrible shape when he came to the ASPCA, we all couldn't help but fall in love with him - he always thought everyone walking by was there just to see him, and no one could resist his big brown eyes and the way he'd look up with tail wagging and one paw off the ground....so many volunteers came JUST to spend time with him, because we all knew that he needed love and affection so he would get healthy. Some volunteers would hold him like a baby and sing to him. All of the staff loved him and would come on their lunch breaks and days off just to check on him. He was such a good boy - not a barker or a whiner, always so polite, such a good dog. I absolutely adored his peace sign/Mercedes Benz logo when it came growing in - he has to be the most adorable and loving chihuahua I've ever met.

Be sure to let me know when you go to visit the ASPCA and I'll try to be up there that day to visit with him. Although I'm sure I'll have to fight my way through the crowd around him as he was a popular guy! Give him a big hug for me.

Oh WOW!!! I just LOVED Peanut, as did everyone who met him. He spent some time on my lap one afternoon while I worked on the computer. He had a little t-shirt on, poor bald thing - he was SO beloved and we were all SO HAPPY when he found his forever home. All the staff spoke very highly of his new adopters...and I'm so so glad you took our precious Peanut home! Isn't he just a love? Delete Comment

OMG CAROLYN! Did you adopt Peanut from the ASPCA???? I volunteer in the office area and spent a lot of time with Peanut while he was being fostered in Beverly's office!!! I remember him being so bald and when his hair grew back in, he had a "peace sign" on his head! Is your Peanut the same Peanut????

Oh hon! I wasn't arguing with you, just letting you know about the policy at the shelter. I just hated to see her come all the way from Brooklyn only to be turned away because they are "full up". The shelter is always packed to the brim. They would have sent her to the city shelter. I've seen them do it - because while they care so much for animals, there are only so many they can take, because it really is a very small building. Every corner is crammed with animals! I just didn't want her to go all the way for nothing especially when Brooklyn AC&C is right there in her area and NYC city shelters euthanasia rate is under 30%.
