Hey, I got this email message about Gordon and thought I pass it along to you.

Hey everyone. Almost a week ago I put out a plea in the hopes of finding a rescue for a stray, injured pitbull mix that was brought into the animal hospital where I work. It had been assumed that he was hit by a train because of where he was found but since he is not deaf it is more likely he was a hit-and-run, the result being a badly fractured pelvis.

I've had a few promising possibilities for him so far but nothing has followed through and I want to get him started on his new life as soon as possible.

At first there was a big possibility that he would be put to sleep since he needs at least $1,500 worth of medical care (So far he needs multiple medications, a growth removed from his eyelid and an ultrasound). However, one of the doctors at my job is pulling for him as well and since so much interest has been generated towards him he is safe at the hospital until we find somewhere for him.

So far his temperment has been wonderful. Even when he was in severe pain he was wagging his tail when approached. This past week he has been wagging his tail even more, saying hello to everyone he can and putting weight on his injured side. We are unsure how he is with other dogs of course.

Right now we are waiting to take donations. I am going to leave that up to the rescue that chooses to take him.
