Profile Information

Proud pet parent of:
Honey is a Choodle (CR), chi-poo x, 9 yrs: BooBoo is a Peke-a-Poo, 8 yrs: Echo is a Yellow Lab x. 13 -/+ yrs: Flossie is a German Shephard, 3 yrs: BG (the initials stand for several things, depending on what she is or has done at the moment, lol), is a Pit x, 2 yrs. Our newest addition is a rescued Chi named Star when we got her, now called Shy, 7+ yrs.
How we met:
Honey is a pup of our first Choodle, Tootsie, who has since passed.
BooBoo was adopted from HS.
Echo came to the boarding facility of the HS when I worked there and managed the TLC Boarding. His older companion had a stroke and eventually passed on, and his brother turned him over to HS Shelter. They took him from my facility to the shelter and he would not interact with prospective adopters and lost more than half his body weight. By the time I had to quit work, he had one more Adoptathon before euthanization. We loved each other, so I took him on home with me when I left there.
Flossie was a stray in the neighborhood, I took her home, planning on finding her a home, but in the meantime, my Dobie, Sugar had passed, so decided to keep her.
BG was stray... my sis phoned me and told me there was a puppy in her neighborhood in trash. We got her, someone had used about 6 small dia. electrical wires, wrapped around her neck like a collar, and evidently tied to something. She must have chewed thru those and let herself free. She was huge puppy, so called her Big Girl, shortened to BG. The shephard had not been with us long, and ended up attacking BG, puncturing her neck, which abcessed. That happened twice more, after nursing her back to health 3 times ended up deciding to keep her. She is my problem baby, thinks she owns me and other dogs should not get near me when she is by my side. This has been an issue, mostly with my husband, but she is getting better with work. Any suggestions??
Shy was a rescue Chi from a high-kill shelter who I found when searching to adopt another older chi.
Pet likes:
Food, treats and anything we eat. Love, love and more love!
Pet dislikes:
Honey hates being groomed, she is a devil that has to be sedated for anything to care for her. Needless to say, she has dredlocks 90% of the time.
Flossie is afraid of gunshots, thunder, and most loud noises... also hates the water hose.
Shy is also afraid of thunder and storms.
Honey hates it when we leave... if we are packing a suitcase, she tries to pack herself!
Echo will voice his disapproval if you even get near him with your feet, much less step on a paw or his tail... when he parks himself next to the bed and I am trying to change the bed clothes, he will not move, so just continually 'growls' at me when I am trying to step around him.
BooBoo does not like to be picked up much, other than that, pretty easy-going.
BG is not scared of ANYTHING!! And she has that bulldog stubborness that many of her breed personality.
Pet’s favorite spot:
Honey and BooBoo, our bed. Echo, floor next to bed or his doggy bed not too far away, Flossie and BG, anywhere I am. Shy.... on top of me!!
Pet’s favorite toy:
Each other... and me. BG likes to chew up empty cig packs.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Too many to mention.. lol.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
When they are sleeping.
I crack up when my pet:
Honey likes to act the stud with BooBoo... when she starts bouncing we can't hold it in.
My pet is unique because:
They all pretty much chose us.

Prayer for Animals

Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals,
especially for animals who are suffering;
for animals that are overworked, underfed and cruelly treated;
for all wistful creatures in captivity that beat their wings against bars;
for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry;
for all that must be put death.
We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity,
and for those who deal with them we ask a heart of compassion
and gentle hands and kindly words.
Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals,
and so to share the blessings of the merciful.

Wendy, sorry it took so long to respond to your condolences. My wife & I really appreciated it. It really hit us hard as we had bottle fed Chubs and his sister, Ms. Kitty as babies.

Hi Wendy. I was unable to follow after I posted for Roy earlier yesterday like I would normally do. I have emailed the lady who started the original bulletin on him and I know she had already stated funds were available and it was just getting him foster/rescue. She will not let him die....I have worked with her before. I will let you guys all know when I hear from her unless you hear from her first. Thanks

All my dogs on my header are Pit Bulls - purebreed. The dog that is my icon is King. He just passed away unexpectly on March 15, 2008 and I miss him so much. Everything I am doing is in his honor in which he asked me too.

Wendy, if you are able to take Roy and there is a fee I will pay for it if this seems to be a problem for you. I am too far away to adopt him. I am serious!

Are you talking about the one that is mostly white, with the underbite? If that's the one she's the baby of the bunch. She was the biggest and the last one born and by far the sweetest. She is just like her daddy who is the one who has the mask named Bandit. I've never had a male before. He is an absolute joy.
