- How we met:
- Vlad was my first kitty. After having him a month, I adopted Oksana at my vet's office. About 4 months later I moved to a pet friendly building and one day on my way home from a class, I stopped at the same vet's office I found Vlad. He'd been in bad shape when I found him. He was full of fleas and had terrible ear mites. On this particular day something told me to stop in again. I found Maks and his sister Kiska. They were also in bad shape. I took them to my vet and found out Kiska had an upper respiratory infection and Maks had feline scabies. The other vet office didn't bother taking care of them like they didn't bother taking care of Vlad. I originally meant to keep them until I found them a home, but after a couple of weeks, no way I was going to give them up. They've been part of the clan ever since. Czarina is a stray kitty who's lived in my new apartment complex for several years. I feed her and take her to the vet. I've tried bringing her indoors but she got away from me one day. She looks to be very happy outside so I don't know if I should try to get her inside again.
- Pet likes:
- Vlad loves cuddling with his buddy Maks, Oksana likes to be left alone and Kiska is a snuggle bunny.
- Pet dislikes:
- Vlad hates to be fussed over, but he lets me clean his face and ears. Oksana hates to be picked up but she likes to wake me up early to get cuddles. Maks also doesn't like being picked up much, but he doesn't make as much of a fuss as Oksana and Kiska, well I can't really find anything she really dislikes too much.
- Pet’s favorite spot:
- They all like to hang out in front of the big sliding doors. I live on the 4th floor so they all have a great view.
- Pet’s sweetest moments:
- They all sleep with me. Vlad has his spot right next to my pillow and I find him with his head or paws on me at some point in the night. It's also one of the only times he purrs, when he's sleeping next to me. Oksana also likes to sleep next to me at times. As much as she hates being picked up, I often wake up at night and can feel her next to me. That brings a smile to my face.
- My pet is unique because:
- To me they are unique because they are mine. I love them with all of my heart and would do anything for them.

Class action lawsuit against pet food industry.
I'm a firm believer we should all know what we eat and what we feed our pets. When I first brought Vlad home I had no idea how to find a good quality food for him. I thought the foods advertised on TV were okay. In doing some research and reading as much as possible I realized that most commercial brands really are not as nutritious as they advertise. Food talk
I've been trying to switch my gang to Wellness grain free. It's a slow change since they LOVE their Fancy Feast! This is an ongoing battle. I used to feed Science Diet, but I did some reading and it's not a very good food to give them. I then began giving them Nutro canned and dry. They liked it for a little while, but they never really loved it. I found some Fancy Feast flavors which were not made with wheat gluten, and started giving them that.
