- How we met:
- When I was 5 my family gave me a cat that was a stray from a farm next to my gram's house. I named her Ashley, because at my Gram's she would roll in the ashes form the stove. I had her for 15 years before I lost her to lung cancer. She was by best friend and the greatest cat. In 2003 in my travles as a portriat photographer I met Legolas. Really didn't want to buy him , cause he was in a pet store, but in the end his cuteness won. I had Legolas for a few months before a job in Virginia separated us. I was gone for 3 months and in that time the same parents that had said no way is he staying were now saying we'll keep him. Go figure. In September of 2004 a puppy in need crossed my path. A 10 week old staffordshire terrior with a busted back leg and in terrible need of food. Many weeks later, lots of money, patience I didn't know I had, and constant training Diesel was all better. A year after Diesel an old high school friend was selling puppies and that's how harley came into my life. In April 2006 I divorced my husband and agreed to let him have the dogs for the weekend. I never got them back and before summer was over the dogs were gone. He separated them and gave them to new families without notifing me. Then in end of 2006 - early 2007 my boyfriend's brother went to college. That's how I ended up with McGuiver. We moved him to our apt. and I read every book, talk to pet stores all over, and tried to learn very fast how to care for a leopard gecko. By the time I got it down and had schedule McGuiver finally went back home. Now I have an empty nest again.

- Pet likes:
- Ashley : Me. She drove my parents nuts going up and down the stairs looking for me when I spent the night at a friends house.
Legolas : My mom bought him every toy ever made for ferrits, and all he wants is her stuffed animal giraffes.
Diesel : Me, Daddy, Gradmas, Grandpas, Cousin Mishka (Aunt's Dog), most people, loves kids, running, most of all sleeping.
Harley : Liked a lot of things and people. Really liked playing with brother Diesel.
McGuiver : Sleeping, hiding, eating crickets.
- Pet dislikes:
- Ashley : That annoying cat of my brother. Then later on that other annoying cat of my mom. Me leaving. My Aunt visiting cause she usaully had her dog.
Legolas : Not getting the toys under the couch or chair or bed or where ever he is tring to hind them. Didn't go well the Diesel & Harley either.
Diesel : Hated being left alone. Cried when in the car. People not petting him. Getting in trouble. Harley getting in trouble. Mommy and Daddy fighting.
Harley : Bath time. Her coat was just too thick and we always ran out of warm water for her. Poor puppy. The word no. Not being able to run all over the neighborhood. ( Mommy didn't like her doing that. There's a heart attack.)
McGuiver : hmmm... does a gecko have dislikes. Oh yeah, didn't liked being handled.
- Pet’s favorite spot:
- Ashley : Was a blak cat so most likey to find her in the sun soaking up the warmth. My bed was also a good place to find her.
Legolas : He has lots all over my parents house. Mostly the unerwear drawers.
Diesel : If not in bed Diesel was with me or my Gram. Really liked being with people.
Harley : I don't think that dog sat still long enough to have a fav spot.
McGuiver : His log or heated rock.
- Pet’s favorite toy:
- Ashley : I only saw her play a few times. Once she saw you were watching she would stop playing. She was very lady like.
Legolas : My mom's giraffe collection. Along with a few Tiggers I left there.
Diesel : used to have this Bob the Builder doll. When we asked him "Where's Bob?" he would go find the doll and then carry the doll around. I also gave him a teddy bear to sleep with at bedtime. Then there was the ax handle. Oh boy! My ex-husband got Diesel to bite on to the middle of the handle while he swung aroung in circles. Diesel would be swinging around in circles with his body straight out. I hated it. All I could think was the dog was going to break another leg or worse. Men! Harley was also a toy for Diesel, got him out of bed and kept him running all day long.
Harley : Everything was toy to her. She eat everything.
McGuiver : no toys just crickets.
- Pet’s silliest habit:
- Ashley : I thought the running up & down stairs when I was funny, at the time my parents did not. Her sitting up straight when you caught her playing was funny.
Legolas : Finding the biggest giraffe and tring to stuff it under the smallest space.
Diesel : Running like a crazy man outside. Running with Bob doll outside.
Harley : Our roomate used to stick out his tongue at her and she would run up on him and kiss him, everytime. Weirdos.
McGuiver : Not all that silly.
- Pet’s sweetest moments:
- Ashley : That's a tough one being she was such a sweetheart. I think I'll go with when I finally got a decent picture of her.
Legolas : That day in the pet store giving me kisses and snuggling ( which was ploy to get him out of there that worked). When he is sleeping.
Diesel : I have lots of pictures of Diesel sleeping ( what he did best and a lot of) but one of my favs is him sleeping with his head under the pillow and the bankets over him.
Harley : When she would finally calm down and snuggle with us on the couch or bed.
McGuiver : I did like him sticking out his little tongue to like his little lips. That was cute.
- I crack up when my pet:
- Ashley : Realized was busted playing. Wouldn't take food from my hand but really wanted it.
Legolas : Just about everything he does when he plays cracks you up.
Diesel : Diesel would send Harley to the door first when someone would knock or ring the door bell. Acctually Diesel would send anyone to the door first as he just acted tough by barking, but always stayed behind mommy.
Harley : Slpet in some funny positions and sat in some strange ways too.
McGuiver : not that funny.
- My pet is unique because:
- Ashley : Was in tune with my emotions and was there for me through those awful high school years.
Legolas : Altough he is a runt no one ever told him. He jumps off the top shelf in the closet and takes on the biggest giraffe in the house.
Diesel : I always thought Diesel was special because he had problems in the beginning that I feared if he had ended up at a shelter they might not have done the work that I did to make him adoptabe. I put in a lot of work with him to make sure he never be the stained pitbull named. Diesel never under stood why people looked at him and walked away without interacting with him. I also think he was unquie ( also think it is because of the breed) that Diesel was in tune with my emotions and those of other people. I have never experienced an emotional connection like I did with Diesel. Truely one of a kind who will truely be missed.
Harley : Was super model pretty and just as smart. ( sorry to you models out there) A happy dog all around. Would brighten the room when she ran into it.
McGuiver : Really cool to look at.

hey guys, for those of you following my Ruby story, just wanted to let you know that she got adopted! She got adopted by a guy who was looking for a redbone coonhound. He came and got her the day she went up for adoption. So a happy ending to a sad start.

Ruby update
My landlord didn't let us keep Runy so I had to give her to the humane society. I feel good knowing that is safe and is being cared for, but it was very emotional to say goodbye to her. I found out new information about her previous owner. Her previous owner was renting from a woman who used to date him, but apartently dogs isn't the only thing he liked abusing. good news
I have good news about the dog in need that i wrote early about. The dog's name is Ruby and she lived in a bad home( well outside the home) she was tied up all day with no food or water. I wrote about the situation on here and thank you to all who responded. I did call the ACO in that area and the day that he came she was gone. She had gotten loose and we couldn't find her, I was totally upset and thought I had missed the chance to help her. The next day (Thursday) when I got to my boyfriend's m… Continue

moose update
I am sorry to report that the moose in my picture was put down yesterday. He got sick and the weather got to cold for him to keep on fighting. I was really hoping he would make it through the winter. He needed more natural food and less human food. As much as I enjoyed the experience of seeing and feeling a moose that close in the wild, I would rather see them grow big and live long at a distance.
