Proud pet parent of:
Black stubby cat-Raven (RIP 02/09/2008)
Rescued German Shepherd-Sargeant
Chester (02/27/1992-07/09/2007)
How we met:
I had a search on Petfinder, I got a notice that the Michigan German Shepherd Rescue had a pup that fit my search. I went to his foster Mom's house to meet him, and it was love at first sight for the both of us. Sargeant came to live with us that day.
Pet likes:
Sargeant likes to play, play, play, and take walks. The dog park is a new favorite.
Pet dislikes:
Sargeant does not like to walk on the ice. Guess I will not be able to get him to play hockey. He also does not like to be away from me, my husband says when I leave, Sargeant waits at the window until I come home. Of course I do not like being away from Sargeant either.
Pet’s favorite spot:
Sargeant likes to run around the backyard, especially if someone is outside with him or he is chasing squirrels. The dog park is a favorite place too.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Sargeant likes just about any toy, especially if it is something you can throw or kick & he can chase.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Sargeant is still a pup & has a lot of silly habits. He seems to have a lot of "scratch spots" that make his back leg "go". He can even get his back leg going all by himself. I can even get both back legs going at the same time. My daughter says he is riding his bike.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
When Sargeant cocks his head to one side.
I crack up when my pet:
Sargeant's "bike riding" is pretty funny.
My pet is unique because:
Sargeant has the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen in a dog, and his intelligence shines right through them. Just look into his eyes, you can see the intellegence.
Plus he is mine.

A Dog's Purpose
(from a 6-year-old)

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying.

Sam is about 80 pounds right now, but the vet says due to the size of her feet she has a ways to go! No matter how big she gets she will still be a big baby.

i will definitely keep on fighting!!! animals need gud people 2 protect them. if not me, if not the ones that love them, then who? anyway in my country i have 2 fight against all system cause the laws exist but no one uses them and this is really sad. people that kill a dog or a cat may get a fine, and this only if they get unlucky.... I sure hope 4 things 2 chance soon.

Right! USA has a long way to go....but Romania has an even longer one. I'll do my best 2 try and change something, but people mentality is hard 2 change. Anyway, every animal lover is a start. Togg we can make a difference!!

I live in Romania and unfortunately we don't have a lot of animal shelters. When a stray is picked up by some so called "doc catchers" he will die 4 sure... But i saw on tv all series with animal rescue from USA and i can see that a rescue dog from a shelter apreciated more his owners and the love he receives from the new family. i think what ur planning is a great thing 2 do!!! i'll keep my fingers cross 4 u 2 find ur new baby.

Good Morning Christina: I received a message from you where you are talking about Sargeant. My dog is Ceasar. I think you may have sent it to the wrong person. Have a great day.

Thank you Christina. I can see you have a beauty yourself. I can't imagine someone being cruel to an animal as beautiful as ours.
Have a wonderful day.
