Profile

Proud pet parent of:
1 rat, 1 gerbil, 1 mouse, 3 hamsters and 3 cats
How we met:
I took them in when neighbors had to get rid of them (the cats), and the small animals, I have this bad habit of always adopting every small animal that is up for adoption at the time at the pet store. My kids at first get sick of it, but they always change their minds and they wouldn't trade any of our furry "kids" for the world.
Pet likes:
cats, any kind of small animal, dogs, fish(even though our apartment always tends to be way too warm for them), reptiles, pretty much any kind of pet you can think of
Pet dislikes:
none that I can think of, even if wild animals could be pets, if they ended up needing a temporary home, I would help as much as possible (my 11 year old son wants to be a vet when he grows up, and all animals are already drawn to him now)
Pet’s favorite spot:
My husband's and my bed, which all of them just have to be on it at the same time every night when we go to bed, and all of them are terrible bed hogs, so every night, many times a night I end up getting shoved out of bed (of course, I'm the one who gets the outside, and the other side of the bed is up against the wall, so hubby never falls out)
Pet’s favorite toy:
My hair(I have really long hair), one of the hamsters even went so far as to stuff as much as he could into his pouch one time when I just got out of the shower.
Pet’s silliest habit:
My cat Midnight, she always tries to turn on the lightswitch, and most of the time she manages, in the old place we lived, I had never witnessed her doing it, and I truly thought our house was haunted. Two of my hamsters, when they want to get out of their cages, will push at the door to their cage, and go up on the shelf and down as they try to get the door open
Pet’s sweetest moments:
My cats follow me everywhere. While this tends to be annoying, it is also so sweet that they love me so much that they have to be in every room I'm in. The only problem is when they get too close to me and their poor little paws or tails get stepped on.
I crack up when my pet:
When Midnight turns on the lightswitch in the hallway. She does sort of a cirlce type jump, and whenever I get a camera or a camcorder to have some photo memory of it, she automatically stops and pretends like she wasn't doing anything. For 3 years, I have been trying to capture it on film, but she is very smart.
My pet is unique because:
Midnight saved my life by getting the plug out of the tub, otherwise I would have drowned, I ended up where I would have been under water had she not done that. I passed out from low blood sugar, and she just knew what to do. I also was starting to have a seizure one time, and my old cat that I had when I was in high school, who never jumped on the counter in the kitchen, jumped right up onto it and pushed my glucagon kit right in front of me, and I was able to take the shot and ended up not passing out, she saved my life.
