I took one of my lil' darlin's to the vet this morning for their annual exam and was talking to the vet about how ridiculous it is that NONE of the CT Humane Society's scan for chips.
And the vet's assistant told me it was "a line" the Humane society gave me when they said that they HAVE the equipment, but it's not set up yet. The asst. told me it's about $400 for the hand held scanner. ..and there is NOTHING to set up. sighh..
Anyhow..I will anxiously await the response to your phone call!!

I would think that the vet and Shelters should have scan access always...if not or some has this is defeating the purpose, it's gotta be all the way.

Hi Janis, yes, thanks for sending me the comment, I read what you had posted to Diane DiGiacomo. Something doesn't sound right, that is why the chips are inserted in the pets, to track down your pet if it gets lost and taken to the Humane Society or vet or where ever it may be, if that is the case, your local humane society does not sound like a good one. I don't know if it's a requirement to scan the pets coming in or if they are doing it as a curtesy. Can you give me their phone number, I can call them to get more information on why they don't scan animals coming in... ok?

I'm new here, I love animals but my fav is cats, I love cats, I've 5 cats now, my oldest one, the queen of the house is 18 years old, my youngest one is 4. I would love to get more kittens but now I'll have to wait and keep these 5 "only".
